ABOUT

The Snowy Mountains Amateur Radio Club Inc. (SMARC) promotes the use of Amateur Radio in the community across the Snowy Mountains and the NSW Far South Coast and all areas in between. Amateur radio provides reliable long-distance radio communications between members of our community of all ages, backgrounds, and interests across our region, Australia, and the World.

The Club was started back in 2000 by a small group of enthusiastic local radio amateurs in the Monaro district which has now grown to include members from Cooma, Berridale, Jindabyne, Adaminaby, Bega, Merimbula, Tura Beach, and other areas who all keep in touch regularly via Amateur Radio. Our members come from all walks of life and various backgrounds eager to help each other, as well as newcomers in enjoying our common interest in Amateur Radio.

We enjoy radio Field Days several times a year both in the High Country and on the Far South Coast and are always looking for the next opportunity to get together and spread the interest in Amateur Radio.

The Snowy Mountains Amateur Radio Club Inc. is proudly affiliated with the Wireless Institute of Australia representing all Amateur Radio Operators in Australia to the various government bodies in this country. http://www.wia.org.au/
